Garden Hands Melt and Pour Soap: A nourishing, exfoliating hand soap bar designed for gardeners, featuring oats, calendula petals, and vitamin E.

Materials

  • 1 lb shea butter soap base melt & pour
  • 1 tbsp carrier oil sweet almond, avocado, or olive oil
  • 1/4 tsp vitamin E oil
  • 1-2 finely ground oats
  • 1-2 tsp fine pumice powder optional
  • 1 tbsp dried calendula petals lightly crumbled
  • 20-30 drops essential oils
  • Isopropyl alcohol in a spray bottle

Instructions

  • Chop melt and pour soap base into small cubes.
  • Melt the base in double boiler, stirring frequently until smooth.
  • Cool slightly.
  • Stir in the carrier oil and vitamin E, mixing well.
  • Add oats and pumice (if using), adjusting the amount based on how scrubby you want the bar.
  • Fold in calendula petals so they’re evenly distributed.
  • Add essential oils and stir gently.
  • Pour soap mixture into molds, spritzing the top of the soap with isopropyl alcohol to remove bubbles.
  • Let set a couple of hours, then unmold and allow to rest for a day.
