This recipe takes about 20 minutes to prepare but delivers lots of flavor and a stunning presentation. Keep reading to discover how to make this irresistible maple glazed salmon. It will quickly become a favorite in your recipe rotation!

INGREDIENTS NEEDED

  • 4 boneless salmon fillets (3-4 ounces each) – can be either skinless or skin on depending on your preference
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • salt
  • black pepper
  • 1/3 cup pure maple syrup
  • 2 tablespoons coconut aminos or tamari (can also use low sodium soy sauce)
  • 2 teaspoons sesame oil
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon ginger powder

EASY SALMON RECIPE

Preheat your oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit.

Prepare salmon glaze by mixing real maple syrup, tamari, sesame oil, garlic powder, and ginger powder together in a small bowl. Set aside.

Heat up oven safe pan (such as cast iron) and drizzle olive oil in.

Once pan is hot, place salmon fillets top side down. Sprinkle with salt and pepper. Let fillets brown for about 2 minutes. Flip and allow them to brown on underside for another 2 minutes.

Pour 3/4 of salmon glaze evenly over each fillet in the pan. Place pan in preheated oven and bake salmon at 375 degrees F for 8 – 10 minutes until the salmon is cooked through and flakes with a fork.

Allow cooked salmon to rest 2-3 minutes and then drizzle remaining maple glaze over the salmon before serving.

TIPS FOR THE BEST MAPLE GLAZED SALMON

  1. Only use pure maple syrup. Pancake syrup that has added sugars and/or corn syrup will harden as it cooks. To avoid this, use only pure maple syrup with no added ingredients.
  2. Use Wild-Caught Salmon. Check out these articles (Cleveland Clinic or WebMD) for a more in-depth understanding of this topic. Here are just a few quick benefits to using Wild-Caught Salmon:
    • Nutritional Profile: Wild salmon generally has fewer calories and less fat, including saturated fat, compared to farmed salmon.
    • Fewer Contaminants: It tends to have lower levels of pollutants like polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs) and other harmful chemicals.
    • Natural Diet: Wild salmon feeds on organisms in its natural environment, which contributes to its nutrient content.
    • No antibiotics: A lot of farm-raised salmon tend to be treated with antibiotics to prevent infections.
  3. Don’t overcook. Salmon can dry out and lose its tender texture if it’s cooked for too long. Aim for moist, flaky fish by keeping a close eye on during the last few minutes of the bake time.
  4. Rest the salmon. Allowing the salmon to rest for a few minutes after cooking helps redistribute its juices, keeping it tender and flavorful.
  5. Wash your pan soon after eating. Maple syrup can get real sticky and hard to clean off if left for several hours. Washing your pan right after eating makes clean-up a breeze!
